Pink Thrift

Sea of Pink Thrift

Today I saw the first thrift of the season in bloom, and it reminded my of my sweet, sweet grandmother.

She had a flower bed in her front yard, under a giant oak tree, filled with thrift.

Every spring it was chock-a-block full of the most beautiful pinkish purple blooms.  It was a stunning display!

She passed away eight years ago this spring, and I still think of her every day.

Every child should have someone in her life who loves her unconditionally.  This morning I got a lovely reminder of who that person was for me.
